Lucie began meeting up with Grace in order to conduct various experiments on dead bodies of animals using scientific methods to try resurrecting them, all of which failed. She attended Cordelia's anniversary party with Anna at the Hell Ruelle, where she danced with a vampire, and on the way back, met up with Jesse's ghost in the carriage.
At Cordelia's wedding, she acted as Cordelia's suggenes, and spoke the words of the wedding ritual along with Matthew, at James and Cordelia's request. A few weeks later, she was absent at the Wentworth's party, when Jesse read a few pages of the Beautiful Cordelia and was insulted by Lord Jethro's description. She tried in vain to persuade Thomas from not going on patrol after the murders of Amos Gladstone and Augustus Pounceby. While practicing the parabatai ceremony with Cordelia, she was stung and was forced to let go of her. She invited Filomena di Angelo to attend Anna's party at her flat the next evening, from which when she was returning to the Institute, she encountered Jesse once more. He admitted his jealousy for Lord Jethro, and then begged her to command him to dance with her in the snow, which she did.
The next morning, at the discovery of Filomena's body, she blamed herself, despite the reassurances of her brother. On the word of a ghost in the courtyard, she led the rest of her friends to a factory, where Filomena's ghost awaited them. On seeing how distraught the girl was, however, she allowed her to leave. At the Hell Ruelle, Malcolm Fade agreed that if Grace could get news about Annabel Blackthorn, he would help them raise Jesse. When Elias Carstairs was murdered, Lucie was a great help and comfort to Cordelia. She tried to use her powers to command Jesse to live, but that only resulted in her fainting and promising him never to try it again. Martha, a ghost, tried to get Lucie to use her powers on her, but was stopped by Jesse, who scolded Lucie for trying to raise him using dark magic. At the Hell Ruelle, Malcolm learned of the truth of Annabel's fate from Grace, and kicked them out. Lucie then met up with Anna and Ariadne, who agreed to take her to meet with Hypatia Vex.
When Thomas was blamed for all the murders, she accompanied everyone to the London Shadow Market to help them understand the object he had given them. There, she assured Cordelia that she was keeping no secrets from her, and on the gesture of a downworlder in the market, she went to visit Malcolm Fade. He apologised for his behaviour at the Ruelle, and made a deal with her - if she reached out to Annabel's soul, he would help her raise Jesse. Jesse asked her to command him to kiss her, which she did, and then he mournfully asked her to give them a happy ending in her book. She met up with the rest of her friends and Magnus, who told them that the object is demonic in nature. After a demon attack, she visited Hypatia's shop with Anna and Ariadne, where she learnt that Emmanuel Gast was involved with the preservation of Jesse's body.
She summoned Emmanuel's ghost, who unwillingly told her that Jesse's body was an anchor for Belial. She tried to destroy his body - which was now covered in runes thanks to the Pithos - but was knocked out by Grace before she could do anything. Lucie reasoned with Grace and informed her that Jesse's body was being possessed and used to murder other Shadowhunters, and Grace finally gave in, only for them to discover the body was missing. Lucie ran to Mount Street Gardens and threw herself between Cortana, and Jesse's possessed body. She tried to control Jesse, but in vain. Belial left the body, and Lucie rushed to it. When Jesse was taken to the Sanctuary, she made plans with Malcolm and Grace to run away to Cornwall to raise Jesse. As she appeared in the Sanctuary later that night, she tried one last time to command Jesse to live. That time however, it worked, and just as she fainted from exertion, Jesse carried her out of there. Will and Tessa discovered the note she left for him, and along with Magnus and James, worked to try and find her.
