Seemingly normal at first, Clary soon gets sucked into the world of Nephilim and other creatures when she finds out that she is a Shadowhunter.

The Infernal Devices is the prequel series to The Mortal Instruments. Set in Victorian London, the series follows Tessa Gray, an orphaned teenage girl who discovers she has the power to shapeshift, abilities that plunge her into a world she never knew existed. She will have to forge an alliance with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute if she wants to survive in this dangerous world.

The Dark Artifices is the sequel series to The Mortal Instruments. Set in Los Angeles in 2013, the series will follow Emma Carstairs, who, after losing both of her parents, has dedicated her life to the eradication of demons and hunting the people responsible for her parents' death.
