Academy-In-Exile crest
The Shadowhunter Academy-In-Exile is a school for Shadowhunters-in-training. Based off of the original Shadowhunter Academy in Idris, this school was opened in New York for the Clave-in-Exile. The school was built on the farmland owned by Luke Garroway in Upstate New York, chosen because it was an already safe and warded location.
History[]
In 2012, the Downworlder-Shadowhunter Alliance came together to build the Academy for the young Shadowhunters of the Clave-in-Exile, under the new Consul Alec Lightwood. In a span of three weeks, construction neared completion and was, according to a graduate of the previous Academy Simon Lewis, much nicer than its predecessor.[1] Catarina Loss spent quite some time at the Academy.[2]

Trivia[]
- The new Academy is apparently haunted by several ghosts. Students that can see ghosts are very familiar with one by the name of Ol’ Hedriksen whom sits atop the abandoned grain silo insulting people.[3] According to Dru, there's also some ghosts from colonial times, a few ghost horses, and one ghost cow.[4]
