Senhora Monteverde is a Shadowhunter who runs the Lisbon Institute in Portugal alongside her husband. The two of them speak a mixture of Portuguese and English.
History[]
In September 2007, the Monteverdes were in Alicante when Valentine Morgenstern threatened to destroy them. While neither she nor her husband wanted to surrender to him, they were more afraid of Downworlders, arguing that they could not be trusted. She also went as far as questioning whether Valentine's old Circle members would rejoin him, enraging a grieving Robert Lightwood, who had just lost his son. Robert rebuked her, saying he would never join Valentine especially because of his involvement in his son's death.[1]
