Roderick Fairchild is an uncle of Granville Fairchild.
By 1878, Roderick had developed gout and was living in Idris. He was in almost daily communication with his great-niece Charlotte and, at one point, their exchanged letters were read by Gideon and Gabriel Lightwood.[1]
