The Random House publishing group is an American book publisher that is part of Penguin Random House, owned by the Germany-based media conglomerate Bertelsmann. It was founded in 1927 by Bennett Cerf and Donald Klopfer and is the largest general-interest paperback publisher in the world. It publishes over 70,000 digital and 15,000 print books a year.
A division of Random House, Random House Children's Books, and its imprint Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers is the U.S. publisher of The Wicked Powers and In Fire Foretold by Cassandra Clare.
