“ | The Paris Shadow Market isn't like most other Shadow Markets. It's the oldest in the world and its history is political and bloody. Nearly every major conflict the Downworlders had with mundanes, Nephilim, or each other before the ninth century started right here. | ” |
The Paris Shadow Market is the Shadow Market in Paris and is the oldest Shadow Market in the world.
Description[]
As of 1989 and 2007, the Shadow Market opens at night in the Arènes de Lutèce once deserted.[1][2] The Market's stalls are situated on the open arena, which still appears empty to those without the Sight.[2]
History[]
In 1989, Jack Crow had a stall at the Shadow Market. Brother Zachariah came in search of the lost Herondale and purchased the Herondale heirloom that Jack was discreetly selling.
The same year, three members of the Circle went to investigate the warlock Dominique du Froid. She let loose a horde of Halphas demons on them, some of which went stray around the Market before Céline went after them.[1]
In 2007, Magnus Bane and Alec Lightwood went to the Shadow Market in search of answers about the Crimson Hand and the Red Scrolls of Magic. Their first stop was Peng Fang's tent.[2]
