The Montclaire family is a French Shadowhunter family.
History[]
By the late 20th century, the Montclaires were a powerful family in France, with Jules and Lisette even having a close connection to the Consul.
Despite being so well-respected, the pair horribly abused their daughter, Céline. Due to this, she became so desperate for love and companionship that she was easily manipulated by Valentine Morgenstern into joining the Circle. In 1989, because they opposed him, Valentine was able to have Jules and Lisette arrested for crimes they did not commit and murdered before they could prove their innocence.[1]
