Luigi is a mundane who owns and runs an Ethiopian and Italian fusion restaurant in New York along with some Downworlders.
History[]
In 2007, Magnus Bane, a friend—or an acquaintance, at the very least—of Luigi, brought Alec Lightwood to his restaurant for a date. Luigi initially mistook the arrival of the couple as a raid, fearing that the Shadowhunter would make a move on the other customers. Magnus assured him otherwise. Still not approving of having a Shadowhunter in his restaurant, he positioned them in a table in the remotest part of the restaurant. Despite his apprehension, Luigi still put in an effort in the preparation and presentation of their meal.[1]

Etymology[]
Luigi is the Italian form of the German name Ludwig and means 'Renowned fighter'.[2]
