–this Livvy about their fight in Thule, Queen of Air and Darkness

Livia Blackthorn is a former Shadowhunter who leads the rebellion against the Legion of the Star in Los Angeles in Thule.

Biography[]

This character's history is identical to that of her alternate dimension counterpart up until just before the Dark War, where the timeline split and the following changes took place.

Dark War[]

During Sebastian Morgenstern's invasion of Alicante in 2007, Livvy was among the children hidden away in the Accords Hall. When Sebastian's forces overpowered the Nephilim, a group of warlocks opened a Portal to New York City but only let children through, forcing Livvy and the others to leave without Mark and Helen.

The battle for Idris wore on while the children sought refuge in the shelter set up by Magnus Bane and Catarina Loss. When the blight began to spread, Shadowhunters and their tools lost their angelic power and warlocks turned into demons. The shelter soon fell and the children had no choice but to try their luck on the streets.

Julian kept them together and together with Emma Carstairs, the young Blackthorns tried to get to a train station to California where they believed it was safe. Just before boarding, a large group of Endarkened tried to stop them. Julian and Emma forced them onto the train while they kept the Endarkened at bay, sacrificing themselves so the children could get away.

Livvy took to heart Julian's request for her to look after her younger siblings. They hopped trains and traded with other survivors to get through their days as they traveled to California. In Chicago, they met Cameron Ashdown and began traveling with him. They were devastated to find that, upon arriving in their hometown Los Angeles, the city and the Los Angeles Institute were under the control of the Ashdowns who had allied themselves with Sebastian's "Legion of the Star". Cameron told them to flee, and the four remaining Blackthorns went back to their life on the run.

One evening while they slept on the street, a Shinagami demon grabbed Tavvy. Ty tried to fight it off but, without their tools, did not do any damage. The demon struck and killed Ty and took off with Tavvy. Dru stopped talking altogether after the incident.

Rebellion[]

For a while, Livvy considered surrendering and joining the Legion if it meant that she and Dru would be safe, but before they could, Cameron found them and instead brought them to the Bradbury Building, joining up instead with an early incarnation of a rebel group. The resistance grew over the years, with Livvy being among those in charge and Cam as a double agent loyal to them, and the pair eventually began dating.

Around five years later, Dru was lost during a scouting trip, and Livvy, by then accustomed to the ways of their world, apparently did not have hope that she could be found and did not initiate a rescue mission for her sister.

In 2014, while staking out at a beach where Sebastian was holding an execution, Cameron brought to her attention an odd pair lurking around: Julian and Emma. Though they'd both initially assumed that they were the Endarkened Julian and Emma, the newcomers insisted that they were Julian and Emma from another world. She and Cameron were somewhat convinced by the runes on their skin and, though Livvy remained distant and distrustful, they decided to take them to Bradbury.

Upon arrival, Emma lent her her phone to show her photos from their lives in their world, and Livvy got emotional when she found out that Ty was alive there. Later that night, Cameron told her that Jules had asked for a sketchpad, and Livvy was finally, truly convinced of her brother's identity. Livvy wrote a letter for Ty and asked Emma to give it to the Ty of their world once they've returned.

With some suggestions from Emma and Julian and the eventual help of the Last Warlock Tessa Gray, the group made plans to retrieve the Mortal Instruments from the Silent City. There, they were ambushed by Sebastian and a portion of his army. Julian refused to succumb to Sebastian's threats and went as far as to kill Thule's Endarkened Julian who was holding Livvy captive. When Sebastian ordered the retrieval of everything in the Silent City, Livvy told Tessa to seal the City once again, sacrificing Cameron who was still inside.

Chaos and battle ensued after, and Emma killed Sebastian with the Mortal Sword, destroying all the Endarkened, thus giving them a bigger chance of reclaiming the world. With their cause and her latest sacrifice in mind, Livvy insisted on staying and not rejoining her family in the other world and bid her brother goodbye.[1]

Physical description[]

Livia has the Blackthorn trademark curling brown hair and blue-green eyes. She has several scars on her face and body, but one that stands out is a cut that runs from her left temple, across her eye, to the middle of her cheek. She has a massive tattoo of a mourning rune across her back.
