–Kaelie to Clary, City of Fallen Angels |
Kaelie Whitewillow was a faerie—believed to be either part nixie or pixie—and a young maidservant of the Queen of the Seelie Court. She was also a waitress at Taki's diner.
Biography[]
History[]
At some point, Kaelie had a brief fling with Jace Herondale, and continued to have a soft spot for the boy.[1]
2007[]
In 2007, Jace brought Clary Fray, Simon Lewis, Alec and Isabelle Lightwood to Taki's for breakfast. Jace left his friends at the booth to flirt with her. Kaelie gave him a peck on the neck, leaving a faint lipstick mark behind.[1]
Some months later, Kaelie approached Clary and delivered the Seelie Queen's bell to her, in case Clary was to ever need a favor. She also asked Clary, on behalf of the Queen, why she continued to wear the Morgenstern family ring around her neck, and further questioned Clary's response. She also mocked Clary for her short stature before taking her leave.[2]
After the events of the Dark War and the death of the Fey representative, Meliorn, Kaelie was sent to the Council meeting to represent the Seelie Court. At the meeting, she reluctantly agreed to the crippling set of sanctions against the Fair Folk for their crimes against the Clave and the Accords on behalf of the Queen, knowing that to do otherwise would result in another war with the Nephilim that they were unlikely to win.[3]
In 2012, following the false statement released by the Clave about Jace and Clary's believed deaths, a group of Shadowhunters reacted violently and slaughtered a group of harmless faeries. Kaelie was among the casualties.[4]
Physical description[]
Kaelie was tall and slim, and had milk-white skin with visible green veins, blonde hair with a green tint, blue eyes with no whites or pupils, and sharp teeth. Because of her nixie-like eyes, she was often assumed to be one.
Skills and abilities[]
- Longevity: As a faerie, Kaelie had a life expectancy that would have allowed her to live for hundreds of years. She also would have been able to choose when she wanted to die naturally, had she not be killed.
- Magic: As a one of the Fair Folk, she had access to the unique magic of her species.
