Jinfeng is a Chinese phoenix living in Shanghai. She is the girlfriend of Shadowhunter Ke Yi Tian and daughter of the faerie smiths known as Mogan.
Biography[]
At some point Jinfeng met and began dating Ke Yi Tian. Despite their relationship being illegal under the Cold Peace, she was able to get her parents approval and support in dating Tian.
In 2010, Tian confided in her that he had been forced into working for the Prince of Hell Sammael. He told her that he had been commanded to retrieve him a phoenix feather. Jinfeng then had the idea to get a feather from the tomb of one of her long dead ancestors for him to use, rather than give Sammael power over her with one of her own.
Sometime later that year, thanks to the efforts of Alec Lightwood, Magnus Bane, and their friends, Tian was freed from his servitude of Sammael. Upon Portaling home from Diyu, Tian immediately went to tell her the good news, expecting her to be happy he would no longer be spending time in that demon dimension.[1]
Physical description[]
Jinfeng is described as extremely beautiful. She is fairly tall with long shining black hair down to her feet. She has large wings that uses to fly attached to her back in the colors of red, yellow and green. Her skin has delicate gold designs traced throughout and her eyes are fringed by long shimmering lashes.[1]
