Jessica Beausejours is a Centurion and a member of Zara Dearborn's inner circle.
History[]
Upon attending the Scholomance, she met and became friends with Zara Dearborn, a fellow Centurion. She became a part of Zara's inner circle and helped Zara take credit for other Shadowhunters' work.
In 2012, Jessica was sent to the Los Angeles Institute as part of a team of Centurions tasked with finding Malcolm Fade and the Black Volume of the Dead.[1]
She was later at the Council meeting following Robert Lightwood's death to discuss who the next Inquisitor should be. There Horace Dearborn used her to make doubtful comments, prompting him to go farther in an attempt to gain support for his run at becoming Inquisitor. The Council ended up voting in his favor.
The following day she attended Robert and Livvy Blackthorn's funeral. Surrounded by her Scholomance friends—Zara, Manuel Villalobos, and Samantha Larkspear—she was often heard giggling or making rude comments during the proceedings. When Ty Blackthorn climbed the pier, they were heard calling for the Silent Brothers to light it anyway "if he wanted to be with her so badly." That night she returned to the Scholomance with her friends and Professor Martin Gladstone.
The group soon found Kieran hiding out in the Scholomance and Jessica was part of those who brought him the Hollow Place in order to submerge him in its magic waters as a way of torture. During the stand off between them and a few other students, Jessica saw Samantha was about to fall in and called out a warning but she did not try to pull her out after she fell in.
Jessica was also among the members of the Cohort that, under Zara's command, followed Diana Wrayburn and Consul Jia Penhallow to Brocelind Forest where they caught them talking with Gwyn ap Nudd, the leader of the Wild Hunt, and imprisoned them for consorting with faeries.
As a Centurion and Cohort member, she accompanied Horace to the Cohort's parley along with the rest. When the battle kicked off, she threw herself at Emma Carstairs. Emma was able to quickly disarm her and knock her off her feet by sweeping her legs. She was later seen struggling to fight off a vampire.[2]
