Isabelle Lightwood was a Shadowhunter from the New York City Institute.
Biography[]
- This character's history and characteristics are identical to that of her alternate dimension counterpart up until just before the Dark War, where the timeline split and the following changes took place.
Isabelle was present at the Battle of the Burren when Clary Fairchild was killed by Lilith, and just barely managed to escape with the rest of the group, leaving Jace behind and still bound to Sebastian Morgenstern. When Sebastian later joined forces with the faeries and invaded Alicante, Isabelle fought against his forces, even taking up the Mortal Sword to attempt to kill him. Unfortunately, by that point the invulnerability granted to him by Lilith had grown so powerful that nothing in Thule could kill him. The Mortal Sword failed to even nick him, and Isabelle was quickly struck down.
Seven years later, during a battle for the Mortal Instruments between Sebastian and the Emma Carstairs from another world, Sebastian recalled how Isabelle had attacked him with the Mortal Sword and taunted Emma with the fact that she had failed, mentioning that she was buried in a grave in Idris.[3]
