The Iron Tombs is a resting ground for Silent Brothers and Iron Sisters whose souls have left their bodies. It is located near a volcano in Iceland and can be reached on foot from the Adamant Citadel and a door from the Silent City.
History[]
In late December 1903, Tatiana Blackthorn stole the key to the tombs and gave it to Belial, who used it to invade the tombs and have an army of Chimera demons possess the soulless bodies since the protection runes on Shadowhunters no longer worked on dead bodies. They then invaded London and sealed off the city from the outside world. Anna Lightwood and Ari Bridgestock were able to find their way to the tombs through the Silent City. The Clave sent dozens of Shadowhunters to the tombs after receiving fire-messages that urged them to reach London through the tombs.
After Belial's army was decimated, the dead Silent Brothers and Iron Sisters were brought back to the Iron Tombs to rest in peace once more.[1]
