Irene is a Carpathian lynx found by Livvy and taken in by Ty Blackthorn at the Scholomance.
History[]
In March 2013, Livvy, in her ghostly form, stumbled upon the injured Carpathian lynx in the area around the Dimmet Tarn. She left and returned with her twin brother Tiberius who rescued the kitten. With Catarina Loss's guidance, Ty nursed the lynx back to health and the lynx managed to recover slightly by the end of the day. When they figured out that the lynx was female, Ty named her Irene. For some reason, Irene is able to see Livvy and, while she did not like her at first, Irene enjoys playing with her.
When Ty collapsed and confined in the Scholomance's infirmary, Irene tried to get out of the room so she could be with him. When Anush Joshi later came into his room to fetch things for Ty, Irene escaped, scratching Anush in the process, and went to Ty in the infirmary, startling Magnus Bane. When the twins were studying the heron necklace they'd given them, Irene played with the chain before Livvy took it from her.[1]
Physical description[]
Irene has gold eyes, long ears, and her fur was spotted with black in some places and on the tips of her ears.

Trivia[]
- When they had yet to determine the lynx's gender, Livvy suggested the gender-neutral names: Stripes, Hero, and Commander Kitty.[1]
