Horse-Face is a Greater Demon that once served Yanluo in Diyu; alongside Ox-Head.
History[]
While Yanluo roamed the world, Horse-Face and Ox-Head came too. There are stories of Shadowhunters having battled them and won but this is because they are weaker on Earth. In their realm of Diyu, they are impossible to defeat as the ground there heals them.
In 2010, their realm—long abandoned with Yanluo dead—was taken over by Sammael. They resumed their jobs and were soon deployed to test Alec Lightwood, Magnus Bane, Jace Herondale, Clary Fairchild, and Ke Yi Tian. They battled against them and though the Shadowhunters were making progress, they healed themselves and it became apparent they could not win. Ragnor Fell eventually appeared and levitated them above, protecting the group. When Sammael arrived, he destroyed them both for having failed.
They are believed to be regenerating somewhere in Diyu.[1]
Physical description[]
Horse-Face has a huge, green-skinned, heavily-built and well-muscled human body with the head of a horse. He carries a large chain whip whose links are each the size of a human fist.[1]
