Elytra are beetle-demons associated with Diyu.
Description[]
Elytra demons are each about the size of a basketball and resemble beetles. They have a hard carapace and a soft underbelly.
History[]
In 2010, Ragnor Fell and Shinyun Jung began messing with wards and Portal magic to make way for their master, Sammael, to come to Earth from Diyu. Because of this, Portals all across the globe began malfunctioning and opening onto this realm instead of their intended destination.
On three separate occasions, when Magnus Bane went to open a Portal, he was greeted by a swarm of Elytra demons. Alec Lightwood and his friends quickly learned that the best way to defeat them was to knock them over and stab through their stomach, and the demons became easy to dispatch whenever this happened. On the third such incident, the Elytra demons were joined millipede and spider-like demons; though they were killed immediately by sunlight.[1]
