Di is one of the glass dragons whose purpose is to guard the Celestial Palace. Huang and Di are located at each side of the double doors leading to the bookstore.
History[]
Di has apparently been guarding the Celestial Palace since it was built. Di and Huang's main purpose is to prevent shoplifters. When a shoplifter leaves the building, one of the dragons will shoot him down with a ray of light, cursing them for eternity and seemingly making them disappear from the mundane world.[1]
Physical description[]
Like Huang, Di is a glass dragon that is painted with mercury and has huge pearl eyes.[1]

Trivia[]
- Together, Huang and Di's names—Huangdi—reference the Yellow Emperor of China or 黄帝. When cursing one particular faerie from stealing a book, Huang mentions that they "will never escape the eyes of the Huangdi."[1]
