The Dearborn family is an old Shadowhunter family.
History[]
In the early 1800s, a Dearborn became a Centurion, and later an Inquisitor. This Dearborn was involved in torturing and then covering up the death of Annabel Blackthorn, as it benefited Shadowhunters at the time.[1]
In 2007, the Dearborns hid in Zurich rather than fight in the Dark War. During the ensuing period of the Cold Peace, Horace Dearborn gathered a group of radical Shadowhunters known and had formed the Cohort by 2012. The group began campaigning against Downworlders, aiming to take over an Institute, along with Horace's daughter Zara, and pass the Registry as a Law.
Later, when Alec Lightwood became Consul, Zara Dearborn helped mastermind the plan for the Cohort to stay in Idris, while the rest of the Clave was exiled.
