Clancy is an ifrit—a warlock who cannot perform magic. Because of his appearance, Clary mistook him for a demon. He works as a guard at Taki's Diner in New York.

Physical description

He has dark red skin and squared-off hands that end in blue-black talons. As a guard for the diner, Clancy wears a long coat and hat and is often slouched during the more quiet moments of his duty.

Etymology

The name is of Irish and Gaelic origin; the meaning translates as 'the son of the red warrior' from the Gaelic "Mac Fhlannchaidh".
