Description[]
Their usual form is a large humanoid-shape made of fire. They also have fiery claws and flames inside their mouth that look like tongues.
When hit with angelic blades, it reacts as if it was hit with water and turns to steam. When vanquished, they disintegrate into a puddle of magma, ichor, and steam — sometimes leaving black scars on the earth.[1]
History[]
In 2007, Alec Lightwood, Aline Penhallow, and Helen Blackthorn fought a group of Cherufe demons in a forest in Rome. They had gone there to meet with Shinyun Jung and Magnus Bane, believing the place to be a meeting point of the Crimson Hand. Instead, they realized Shinyun had tricked them and they were trapped in the small clearing by what they believed to be enchanted pillars of fire. It was only after Helen made it past their blockage, and one of the five demons left their position to attack her, that they realized they were demons. They began fighting them with seraph blades and dispatched them fairly quickly.[1]
