Preload templates are a set of templates meant to make following article guidelines easier for users.
These become usable to users when they create a new page; at the top of the editing window is a bar with labeled buttons: Character, Location, Group, Item, Event, and Other. Clicking any of those will load the respective template, and the editing field will then fill itself with the standard format and the typical bases (particularly, the headings and the infobox) of articles on the wiki.
