Catarina Loss was a powerful warlock who used to work as a nurse at the Beth Israel Hospital in New York.
Biography[]
- This character's history and characteristics are identical to that of her alternate dimension counterpart up until just before the Dark War, where the timeline split and the following changes took place.
During Sebastian Morgenstern's invasion of Idris, a group of warlocks opened up a Portal to a temporary shelter set up by Catarina and Magnus Bane in New York, to allow the children trapped in the Accords Hall to escape. Only those under fifteen were allowed through.
After Idris fell and Sebastian's conquest continued, warlocks around the world began to sicken in reaction to the doorways opened by him which allowed demons to pass into the mundane world. Catarina, a powerful warlock in her own right, was also affected and fled before she could transform into a demon and hurt anyone. Her whereabouts, as well as whether she died or became a demon, are unknown.
The New York shelter was destroyed within two months of Sebastian's victory, and the children left on the streets to make their way to survive. However, before she left, Catarina arranged for a number of trains to take Shadowhunter and Downworlder children across the country to California, which was considered a safer place.[2]
