The birth control rune is a new form of contraceptive among Shadowhunters, created by Clary Fairchild—the only Shadowhunter able to "create" runes. It was initially controversial when Clary first shared it some time after 2007 but has since become one of the most-used runes.[1]
Trivia
- The rune's effectiveness lasts about three months, much like birth control shots among mundanes.[2]
- The rune is possibly named after Margaret Sanger who was an advocate for birth control.
