Bernard was a cult member of the Crimson Hand. In 2007, he and other cultists conspired to overthrow the current leader Shinyun Jung with the help of the Greater Demon Asmodeus.
Biography[]
When Magnus Bane was to be taken to the pit as a sacrifice to Asmodeus Bernard was the one of two to do so. Although he first pretended to be intimated by Shinyun Jung it was later revealed that he and other cultists were working with Asmodeus all along. merely waiting to overthrow her. When Alec asked him who he was he declared himself the leader of the Crimson Hand yet was immediately contradicted by other members of the cult. While Asmodeus was being summoned, he used Bernard to speak through. Later, he was arrested by Shadowhunters all the while still proclaiming himself as leader of the Crimson Hand.[1]
Physical description[]
Bernard is a stick-thin man with his dark hair slicked back, accentuating his pointy chin. He also has a tuft of a beard.[1]
