The Berlin Institute is one of the oldest Shadowhunter Institutes in the world.
In 2007, the Institute was attacked by Sebastian Morgenstern. Most of the Shadowhunters from Berlin were killed, but a few, including the head of the Institute Amalric Kriegsmesser, were Turned into Endarkened warriors via the Infernal Cup.[1]
