The Mortal Instruments

City of Lost Souls

In City of Lost Souls, Magnus Bane helps 'Team Good' summon Azazel so that they can ask him how to break the demonic parabatai bond between Jace Lightwood and Jonathan Christopher Morgenstern. For his advice, he asks in return for a happy memory from all of those present as he gets lonely chained to the Rocks of Dudualel. When they summon Azazel again, he says that he has a plan but in return, they must free him from his chains. Magnus is horrified at his deal and declines, he tries to banish him back to hell, but Azazel refuses to leave his apartment, as he is stronger. Magnus' cat seems to be compelled into Azazel's pentagram and Simon Lewis catches him, but steps into the pentagram. Azazel asks for the Wanderer (Cain) but realizes that Simon is too young and the world is too old. He then vanishes of his own accord after warning them that they're playing a dangerous game.

Physical Description

Azazel is a tall man with auburn hair. He has an ageless face, that seems cold and inhuman, with broad shoulders. When Magnus summoned him, he was wearing a well cut black suit with shining black shoes. But his eyes were small, leaping red flames and on his arms were the marks from a material that seemed to be cut into his skin over many decades.

Personality

Azazel is a sly creature with a temper that should be feared, but likes to bring up the topic of Magnus' father frequently even though Magnus tells him not to. Lastly, Azazel has been bound for so long that he almost begs Magnus to release him in the City of Lost Souls.
