Sometimes I wish Simon chose Graymark as his shadowhunter name since he was basically the only father figure he’d known for most of his life at that point. Idk
What's on your mind?

Why does belial call lilith lady of owls
I know silver is burns Werewolves, but what material hurts the other Downworlders ? I'm just curious. I remember reading it somewhere but I forgot.
If a shadowhunter and mundane had a child.
Would that child be able to use runes and such or just be a regular mundane with the sight?
Sorry it's me again !
I was looking up pages about Ash Morgenstern, Sebastian, Tessa, James, Lucie (and Mina in a way) etc... all cases of Shadowhunters with demon blood. But with a different measure of blood (per say).
Again the thing I don't get is why Tessa can't bear runes if her mother had Shadowhunter blood. Sebastian for example, born Jonathan, was literally born with demon blood injected all throughout the pregnancy of his mother, and potent demon blood — Lilith's. He still bore runes. Even after his first death in CoG, when Lilith raised him from the dead in CoFA, she added even more of her own blood into his system, and he could still bear runes.
For James & Lucie & Mina I understand better since both their fathers are full-fledged Shadowhunters (even if inactive for Jem).
Now the case of Ash is very interesting, and of course I'll know we'll have more answers in TWP, that's part of the reason why Cassie hasn't said much about him. Given that his mother is faerie and father Nephilim, he could be compared to Helen and Mark. But when he was conceived Sebastian had even more Lilith's blood in his veins (after being raised from the dead), so Ash must have a great deal of demon blood too... will he still be able to bear runes ?
Sorry I'm ranting again but I have no one to talk to about this so here I go
Hi !! As usual I was thinking about TSC and trivia today, and I remembered something about Tessa Gray and her unique position as a half-Shadowhunter/half-warlock. So we know her mother was a Shadowhunter who never bore Marks upon her skin, so Tessa is half-Shadowhunter.
I remember when I read the TID series, that when they discovered that Tessa's mother was a Shadowhunter, they wondered if Tessa could bear runes. They tried it on her and realized that she could bear them (without being driven mad with pain and dying a horrible death), but that the rune vanished quickly and had no effects on her. I feel like I remember this scene pretty vividly, maybe in Clockwork Prince or Clockwork Princess.
Now: every time Tessa is mentioned afterwards, she's solely mentioned as a warlock, with her Changing abilities and her magical aura being gray (cf The Land I Lost), and I think I've seen written a few times that she couldn't bear runes. It's for this reason that Will gave her the pearl bracelet with the wedding rune on it for their 30 year anniversary, since she couldn't bear runes.
So help me out here: can she bear runes and they have no effects on her? Or do they have the same effect as if putting a rune on a mundane or a Downworlder (except for the Alliance rune), that is, a horrible and painful death?
Thanks in advance for your help!!! It's been bugging me for months
The books are sold on kickstarter and we won't be able to buy them after, right? Or is there a chance they might be resold somewhere else?
Will the black volume of the dead happen before the wicked powers?
What is your ranking of the novellas in the bane chronicles?
What is your ranking of the novels from the mortal instruments?
I know Cassandra Clare said TWP was her last series, but something really cool she could write would be a novella or short story or maybe book or 2 about, TLH children during WW1 or 2. I feel like she could make some crazy connection to the shadowhunter world.
Freighted with gravity?
Does anyone know or think these books will be on Goodreads in the future at all?
How is Bridget from the infernal devies still alive?
In the chain of gold when beliel and James are talking beliel says a quote it "resist the devil and he will flee" and then says its a nice thought isent it?, its from the book of James to what does he mean?
Hello,
I added transcripts of missing extras - the official Clave files from CoB and several short stories and letters from The Last Hours:
"Fever"
"One Must Always Be Careful of Books"
"Aught but Death"
Two letters from Matthew to James
Letter from Jesse to Lucie.
Enjoy!
Does anyone know where to find a correct Shadowhunters family tree?
I’ve found a couple online but something tells me they were written before the Last Hours because I struggle to understand how Grace and Christopher are having children when Christopher is dead …
The reason I want to find one is because I am really confused as to the surnames of characters in the Dark Artifices and Mortal Instruments (why is Emma descended from Alastair yet have Cortana and exactly which TLH is the Lightwood family name coming from?)
Thank you!
There is a sentence in the book when Jamie is helping cordilia fight a deamon at blackthorn Manor and when cordilia is talking to her self she says "that her mother would of experienced at the idea of a boy touching her daughters leg"?..please if anyone understands this sentence please help me make sense of it cuz I'm really lost on this!

So Mortmain needed Tessa for his entire plan. But HOW is he know Tessa was a girl? What if she was a boy? That would have screwed his entire plans up
